Border 2 box office collection Day 8: Sunny Deol’s war epic narrowly misses all-time Top 10 opening week

Border 2 box office collection continues to show resilience despite a gradual weekday slowdown, as Sunny Deol’s multi-starrer war drama narrowly missed entering the list of the top 10 highest opening-week collections of all time for Hindi cinema. The film, which released during the Republic Day extended weekend, has so far amassed ₹235.25 crore in eight days, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, underlining its strong theatrical pull even amid fresh competition.

The Anurag Singh-directed film benefitted massively from the national holiday window, posting historic early numbers. However, marginal weekday drops have kept it just short of breaking into the elite Top 10 list, where Hrithik Roshan’s War currently holds the 10th position.

While opening-day numbers often dominate headlines, a film’s first-week performance is widely considered the true indicator of its box office sustainability. Border 2 delivered a powerful opening week driven by holiday advantage and strong word of mouth.
