Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition Debuts as Athlete-Exclusive Smartphone for Milano Cortina 2026

Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition has been officially unveiled by Samsung as a special smartphone designed exclusively for athletes competing at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The device will not be available for public sale and will instead be distributed directly to athletes as part of Samsung’s Games-time support initiative.

Samsung plans to provide the foldable phone to around 3,800 athletes from nearly 90 countries, with distribution beginning January 30. Athletes will use the device throughout their stay at the Games for communication, scheduling, and daily planning.

Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition: Design and Athlete-Focused Features

The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition features a blue glass back panel inspired by the visual identity of the Milano Cortina 2026 Games. Custom wallpapers reflect winter sports through dynamic line patterns symbolising motion and athletic performance.

The device is equipped with an edge-to-edge FlexWindow powered by Galaxy AI, allowing athletes to access updates, manage tasks, and capture photos without unfolding the phone. It includes a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP wide camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.

Samsung has integrated the Now Brief feature into the FlexWindow, offering daily summaries such as reminders, calendar schedules, and fitness insights. The feature also connects with Athlete365 and related platforms to display competition schedules, health resources, and official Games updates.

Preloaded Apps and Athlete Connectivity

The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition comes with several pre-installed apps designed to support life inside the Olympic and Paralympic Villages. These include tools for communication, ticket access, fitness tracking, and community engagement.

Athletes can also use the Galaxy Athlete Card feature to create and share digital profiles, collect cards, and participate in interactive activities that encourage connections across different sports and countries.

Complimentary 5G eSIM and Wallet Integration

Each device includes a complimentary 100GB 5G eSIM, ensuring high-speed connectivity during the Games. Samsung has also added Wallet support in partnership with global and local providers, enabling digital passes such as the Coca-Cola Free Beverage Key, which works with vending machines across the Villages.

Athlete365 integration within Now Brief offers performance guidance, mental health resources, and competition details. Additional pre-installed services include the official Olympic Games app, IOC Hotline, and Pinquest, supporting athletes’ daily needs across venues and accommodation zones.

The foldable phone also features a fitness app that connects with gym equipment inside the Villages, allowing athletes to track workouts and review training data throughout the competition period.
