Prakash Raj Denies Leaving Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit Amid Rumours

Prakash Raj has dismissed circulating rumours suggesting he exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s highly anticipated film Spirit, confirming that he remains part of the project. The actor’s statement comes amid reports that claimed he had creative differences with the director and was unhappy with certain scenes in the film.

The controversy began shortly after Deepika Padukone exited Spirit, prompting speculation about the stability of the cast. Media reports suggested that Prakash Raj might also be leaving, citing dissatisfaction with the script and the execution of specific scenes.

Prakash Raj Confirms His Role in Spirit

Prakash Raj addressed the speculation directly, calling it “some nonsense” and clarifying, “I am not aware of it,” reaffirming his involvement in the film. This statement puts an end to the swirling rumours about his departure.

Spirit’s Earlier Casting Changes

Spirit has already faced significant casting shifts. Last year, Deepika Padukone stepped away from the project, reportedly due to an eight-hour work schedule conflicting with her commitments to spend time with her daughter, Dua. Additional factors included demands for higher fees, a share in the film’s profits, and a request not to deliver dialogues in Telugu, which reportedly did not align with the filmmaker’s vision. Triptii Dimri later replaced Padukone in the lead female role.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga also addressed Padukone’s exit indirectly on X (formerly Twitter), hinting at creative disagreements. He wrote, “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA between us. But by doing this, you’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are…. Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for?”

Spirit’s Release Date and Cast

Spirit is set to release worldwide on 5 March 2027, confirmed recently by the producers, T-Series, through a social media post featuring a black-and-white teaser poster.

The film marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director known for Kabir Singh and Animal. Triptii Dimri joins Prabhas as the female lead, while Vivek Oberoi also features in the ensemble cast. Although details of the plot are being closely guarded, the film promises a blend of high-octane action and drama. The first look, released in December last year, generated significant buzz among fans.
