Ranveer Singh Alleges Hrithik Roshan Was Considered for Don 3 Amid Fallout With Excel Entertainment

Ranveer Singh Don 3 controversy has taken a new turn as fresh details emerge about closed-door meetings between the actor and Excel Entertainment, with reports claiming that Hrithik Roshan was also being considered for the project at one stage.

Ranveer Singh Don 3 fallout reportedly stems from creative disagreements and prolonged uncertainty surrounding Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated action franchise. Following Ranveer’s reported exit from Don 3, two meetings were held under the mediation of the Producers Guild of India to address disputes between the actor and the production house. New information has now surfaced about what allegedly transpired during those discussions.

What Led to the Closed-Door Meetings

The first meeting took place about a week ago and involved senior industry stakeholders who assessed the issue from both perspectives. However, tensions escalated during a second, more detailed meeting held last weekend, where disagreements reportedly came to the forefront.

A producer who was allegedly present at the meeting claimed that Ranveer Singh accused Excel Entertainment of being unprofessional and delaying the project indefinitely. He reportedly expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of a bound script, stating that he prefers to commit only to projects with fully developed material.

Allegations of Script Issues and Hrithik Roshan Talks

The same source claimed that Ranveer alleged Farhan Akhtar was resistant to feedback and unwilling to incorporate certain narrative elements. More notably, Ranveer reportedly stated that Excel Entertainment had explored the possibility of bringing Hrithik Roshan on board for Don 3 and only re-approached him after the commercial success of Dhurandhar.

Hrithik Roshan, for context, had previously appeared in a notable cameo in Don 2 (2011), starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, which has fueled speculation about his potential involvement in the franchise.

Excel Entertainment’s Stand on the Dispute

The report further stated that Farhan Akhtar denied all allegations, maintaining that Ranveer Singh never raised any concerns about the script during development. According to Farhan, Ranveer was enthusiastic about portraying the next iteration of Don, following Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Farhan reportedly claimed that script drafts were shared at regular intervals and were approved by Ranveer at every stage of development.

Compensation Claim and Ongoing Uncertainty

Excel Entertainment, led by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, is reportedly seeking compensation of ₹40 crore, an amount they claim was spent on pre-production. The producers are said to be seeking a formal resolution against what they consider unreasonable demands by actors.

Ranveer Singh, meanwhile, is reportedly upset over how Don 3 was handled and is said to have exited the project to preserve his peace of mind. It has also been alleged that Farhan prioritised other acting commitments over Don 3, resulting in nearly three years of indecision around the film.

As of now, neither party has issued an official statement confirming these claims.

What’s Next for Ranveer Singh

While the future of Don 3 remains uncertain, Ranveer Singh is currently preparing for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is scheduled for release on March 19.
