Nancy Grace Calls for Polygraph Tests as Search for Missing Nancy Guthrie Reaches Critical Stage

Nancy Guthrie missing as the search for the 84-year-old woman enters what commentators are calling a critical phase, with television host and legal analyst Nancy Grace urging the family to take decisive steps to aid investigators and narrow the focus of the case.

Speaking during a Fox News appearance, Grace offered blunt advice to the Guthrie family, arguing that voluntary cooperation including polygraph examinations could help eliminate lingering doubts and refocus law enforcement efforts as time becomes increasingly crucial.

Nancy Grace Urges Polygraph Tests During ‘Critical Hour’

Appearing on Hannity, the Crime Stories with Nancy Grace host said submitting to polygraph tests could help investigators rule out internal questions and concentrate on finding Nancy Guthrie alive.

“Go, hook up to a poly and be done with it,” Grace said, referring to polygraph examinations. She added that, in her view, refusal to take a test often raises concerns and diverts attention at a moment when clarity is essential.

Grace emphasized that such tests are voluntary but argued they can be a useful tool in high-profile missing-person cases to remove suspicion and refocus investigative resources.

Grace Rejects Medical Emergency Theory

Grace also dismissed speculation that Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance may have been caused by a sudden medical episode.

“This was not a ‘medical’ event. We can rule that out,” she said, asserting that the available details suggest a more deliberate set of circumstances rather than an accidental or health-related incident.

Her comments underscored growing concern that the case involves criminal elements rather than an unexplained disappearance.

Concerns Raised Over Cryptocurrency Ransom Reports

Addressing reports that a ransom demand may involve cryptocurrency, Grace warned that such developments complicate recovery efforts, particularly if funds move beyond U.S. jurisdiction.

“Bitcoin can and has been traced by the IRS, feds and DOJ,” she said. However, she cautioned that once cryptocurrency is transferred through countries with limited regulation, tracking and recovery become significantly more difficult.

“If that money has already moved to a potentially low-regulated country, bringing Nancy Guthrie home alive becomes much harder,” Grace said, calling that possibility her primary concern.

Analysis of Savannah Guthrie’s Public Appeals

Grace also weighed in on the emotional video pleas released by Savannah Guthrie, saying her demeanor suggests she still believes her mother is alive.

“You can see on her face she becomes more and more and more haggard, asking the public to help her find her mother,” Grace said. “If she thought her mother had already passed, she would not be doing that.”

Grace further suggested that the videos appear carefully prepared rather than spontaneous, speculating that Savannah may be coordinating closely with federal authorities and delivering scripted messages.

What Investigators Have Confirmed So Far

Journalist Brian Entin reported, citing the FBI, that there has been no further communication between the Guthrie family and the suspected kidnappers since the reported ransom deadline passed.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has also confirmed that investigators have not identified any suspects or persons of interest. Officials stress that the investigation remains active and ongoing.

Authorities continue to urge anyone with information related to the Nancy Guthrie missing case to contact local or federal law enforcement immediately.
