Search Warrant Served in Rio Rico

According to reports shared by Rawalerts on X, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at a Rio Rico location in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

NewsNation correspondent Brian Entin reported that, as of the latest update, authorities have not located Guthrie.

The search followed the detention of an individual during a traffic stop earlier in the day. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that deputies detained a subject south of Tucson who is currently being questioned in connection with the investigation.

“Earlier today, Pima County Sheriff’s Department deputies detained a subject during a traffic stop south of Tucson. The subject is currently being questioned in connection to the Nancy Guthrie investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available,” Entin reported, citing the sheriff.

Family of Detained Man Speaks Out

Entin later reported that the detained man’s family said he was delivering DoorDash at the time he was pulled over. The man was detained in Rio Rico, near the U.S.-Mexico border.

The reporter also stated that the FBI was searching the residence connected to the detained individual.

According to Entin, the man’s mother-in-law who owns the home being searched said authorities seized electronic devices during the execution of the warrant. She strongly denied any involvement by her son-in-law in Guthrie’s disappearance.

Meanwhile, CNN interviewed a woman who alleged that officers forcibly entered her home during the investigation.

“They broke my door. They went inside. My son was playing on his Nintendo. He had his headphones on. They put him in handcuffs and took him outside,” she said.

It remains unclear whether the individual referenced in the CNN interview is the same person detained during the traffic stop.

FBI Releases Images of Person of Interest

The latest law enforcement activity comes hours after the FBI released new black-and-white photos and video footage showing a person of interest in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance.
