Donald Trump and the Epstein Files are back in the spotlight after the U.S. Department of Justice released millions of additional documents tied to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, the U.S. president firmly denied any connection to Epstein’s criminal activities, declaring he has been “totally exonerated” and has “nothing to hide.”
The renewed attention comes as authorities publish a fresh tranche of records related to Epstein’s case, prompting questions about individuals mentioned in the documents. Trump’s name appears multiple times across the files and flight logs, though officials have said the references do not constitute verified allegations.

Trump Says He Cut Ties in Early 2000s

Addressing reporters, Trump reiterated that he severed ties with Jeffrey Epstein in the early 2000s after Epstein allegedly recruited an employee from his Mar-a-Lago estate.
“I have nothing to hide. I’ve been exonerated. I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. They went in hoping that they’d find it and found just the opposite. I’ve been totally exonerated,” Trump said.
He also claimed that Epstein opposed his 2016 presidential campaign, asserting that the financier worked against his election efforts.
White House Defends President’s Record
The White House moved quickly to reinforce Trump’s stance. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president had been consistent in his account for years, maintaining that Epstein was removed from Mar-a-Lago because he was a “creep.”
Leavitt added that Trump had cut off contact with Epstein long ago and described the document release as evidence of the administration’s commitment to transparency.
According to Leavitt, the publication of more than three million documents related to Epstein’s crimes demonstrates the administration’s willingness to make records public.
What the Latest Epstein Files Contain
The Department of Justice’s latest release includes more than three million documents, photographs, and videos connected to the Epstein investigation. Reports indicate Trump’s name appears at least 1,000 times in the newly released materials.
A report by The New York Times found that more than 5,300 files contain over 38,000 references to Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Mar-a-Lago, and related terms.
Officials have cautioned that many of the mentions are routine or incidental. While some documents reference allegations of sexual assault and misconduct, authorities have stressed that these claims remain unverified.
The Department of Justice has reviewed the material and stated that it did not uncover credible evidence warranting a detailed investigation into Trump.
Ongoing Public and Political Attention
The release of the Epstein Files continues to generate political and public debate, particularly regarding individuals named in the records. Trump has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and maintains that he was cleared of any involvement.
As scrutiny persists, the administration insists the document disclosures reflect transparency rather than implication, while critics argue the references merit continued public examination.
